According to a report from the Los Angeles Times, Ellen DeGeneres recently announced – for the second time – that she was abused sexually by her step-father as a young girl. The star hopes that her revealing her story to the world inspires other victims to tell their stories of victimization.
On an episode of David Letterman’s new Netflix show, My Next Guest Needs No Introduction With David Letterman, Ellen says to the host that she was abused as a child.
Ellen claimed there are many men who get away with so much. Moreover, she’s still upset with herself for not speaking about what happened to her before as a teenager. She’s 61-years-old, and it was even challenging for her to come to terms with it as an adult around fourteen years ago.

Ellen says she wasn’t strong enough to stand up to her step-father at the time; as she was just 15-years-old or 16-years-old. Ellen first made the revelation during her 2005 book, stating that her step-father was a “very bad man.” He asked to feel her breasts “for lumps,” among other transgressions.
Ellen claims he insisted on checking her breasts repeatedly on many different occasions. One night, her step-father tried to force entry into her room, making an already-bad situation even worse. Ellen says she didn’t want to tell her mother what had happened because she wanted her mother to be happy.
DeGeneres said that women feel like they’re “not worthy” or, in many cases, they’re too scared to speak out. David Letterman’s Netflix series, My Next Guest Needs No Introduction, features interviews with many stars, including the rapper Kanye West, Melinda Gates, Lewis Hamilton, as well as Tiffany Haddish.
As most know, Ellen is just one of many to come out about sexual abuse ever since the #MeToo movement began in late 2017 with Harvey Weinstein.
